People come and go Taking me to places I've never known Sometimes I see outside these walls of ice These posters hung on bedroom walls Even when they're wripped and torn Down a different street We will find the words to help us Learning to move on from history We can't escape our vices Sometimes they pick us up and they can destroy us But who we are and not what we've done define us It's a lie to say that all our choices Reflect who we are, and who we want to be
2.
You are dancing slow Balancing on the tips of your toes You are a flickering flame A candle that lights up the dark Did you ever think you'd fall in love? She is going where the sun never shines The silence of space and the clear autumn skies But it's cold, cold, cold, cold, too cold You are gonna light up the fuel To burn away the regret You can't take the load Whiplash me, baby, come on Did you ever think you'd fade away? He is running from the world outside The machines stole his voice and can't cry Out for help, help, help, help, help You wait Soul for sale You see Take the receipt There's a bad moon rising on the east ocean side Passed the cheap beach houses and the naked human tide The lighthouse questions what the point is at all It's just sex, booze and drugs and sometimes something more Please love me, love me, love me, love me, love me, kiss me You are love Cold love Cheap plastic toys Break the waranty

My Friends 04:26
Can you take me through your winter gardens? Can you take me to the window by your bed? Can you show me how to craft a portrait? Can you show me how to paint a perfect friend? My friend can you look in the camera I'm gonna take a perfect photograph Follow me down to my summer palace It has taken years to get me here The rain it falls down on the path That lies before me, I don't know which way I should go To get back to when we were young We were diverted and now it's time to come back home To erase the past, To find out just who we are My friends Frost is coating the bending freeway Before me collecting every lick My friend your eyes are shining Casting mirrors, reflecting in the mist Neon kisses in a desolate doorway I'm so lost but I can't help any of it This house, this home I live in I constructed it brick by brick
4.
Go tell mother nature Her children have all gone and drowned out at sea Just want to be free They're fleeing from the fire That scorches the land underneath their feet From you and from me One day we will step back and watch the crowded surface of this spinning earth We'll ask "where did we come from?", and the creationists shiver as they see what we've become and what we've lost The fear will fill their aching mind They didn't listen, we're out of time We'll watch it fall beneath the setting sun Look up and see the shattered world crashing amongst the spinning birds falling down to the ground There's this thing that's called honest and when its labelled blasphemy we'll be trapped in a false cycle Cause your bones are brittle, ten feet tall You're foolish and sentimental You're blinded by the privilege
5.
Look out early riser A new dawn is coming in Listen for the thunder Its come down to take away our sin You don't know me yet Lost and broken They don't really understand Pick us out of the crowd Shoots us down and tell us "be a man" You don't know me yet Uprising on the coast, shelter on the land Will we ever see this earth again? Reciept for the wicked This dusty barren plain Where the sun burns your skin Your foolishness deserves your pain Do you know me yet?

1953 03:06
What are you looking for? Why are you waiting? What are you doing that for? Why are you waiting? It's never seemed so clear to me We live in troubled times But what's on the other side Did you see the rattle snake? Don't tread on him. Did you feel the Earth around you shake? What's moving? It's never seemed so clear to me This ain't nineteen fifty three Not anymore How was your welcome? Did you feed it? Did you break established dreams? Are you free yet? It's never seemed so clear to me There's no black and there's no white There's only grey It's never seemed so clear to me We live in troubled times But what's on the other side
7.
If trouble was for lesser things, for tired eyes and twisted trees Me and you would never have met at all So thank you for the troubled times, the shaking hands, the tearing eyes Without them I wouldn't be quite me So hello pretty stranger Stand upright against the wind Together we can fall into place Hello pretty stranger Nothing's meant to last forever I don't care when I'm with you Do you feel my heat when you take my hand, that rush of blood up to the head Does it pull you closer or push you away? Don't you worry I'll stay here, there's no need for you to fear I can help you mend your broken heart So hello pretty stranger Stand upright against the wind Together we can fall into place Hello pretty stranger Nothing's meant to last forever I don't care when I'm with you
8.
I guess you could say it's just another day But it's just not the same I guess I could take it in my stride, turn it up and turn it loud But I'm just gonna let it all out But I've got so much to talk about And you're sick of me running my big mouth But when it comes time to run, you better run Why are you waiting to react? Don't have anything to say now? Are you sitting on the fence? Why are you just scrolling through your phone? Apathetic and in your own world Are you sitting on the edge? Of a setting sun You say we're all born the same, that if you work then you'll gain But I think you're naive, you're from another age If you can cry, you can scream, if you can scream, you can shout Stop pretending there's nothing to fight about Again and again You're told lies that you're force fed So it's time to face the facts, you've been betrayed Dear Mr Jones Stop teaching hate to scared old crows The hatred is what is pulling them back towards the ground And to you my dear God You've been shoved around, you've been blamed alot No matter what form you take, you can't deny You've destroyed alot of lives, somebody loves, somebody dies IT'S JUST ANOTHER BLOODY KIND OF LIE Of a setting sun on a backdrop of grey Colours distort in the rains that fall on the tide The sea comes rolling in through the salt spray and mist What is the nature of reality? Scared old crows cawing out to me (the nature of reality)
9.
There's a man that sits on Eddy Avenue, holding a cardboard sign Please give to me generously He's got a polystyrene cup and an old leather coat Please a couple dollars to keep me warm When it rains his tent leaks, and he shivers in the frost The constant beeping buses drive him insane The rubbish trucks on Mondays appear before the dawn I guess that's it for sleep today Leave my bags on the front line You'll never see Through the smoke and the rain that blinds your eyes You'll never be This generation of underdogs So we will rise, we will rise, we will rise We will rise up to the top There's an indigenous girl down near Central Station There are so many places she wants to go Tossed and turned by strangers who don't know her Sneers upon her thick brown curls Leave my bags on the front line You'll never see Through the smoke and the rain that blinds your eyes You'll never be This generation of underdogs So we will rise, we will rise, we will rise We will rise up to the top Crawling towards the crashing surf, Bondi beach never seemed more further, more further Lives that have seen it all, from Sydney to California they are forgotten, the forgotten souls
10.
What were you going to say to me When you closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep I guess that time will never show The way things are and how they could have been we'll never know Back onto the street It's raining out, better watch your feet We are all pretenders with nothing to show To all of the familiar faces in the second row We were all just renegades on the run Fleeing down the tracks in desperation they will come Back to life So leave my bags on the frontline You'll never see through the smoke rain that cloud my eyes Can you hear my voice on the stereo I'm just an angsty kid trying to get of this rotten town I never listen to the radio And so we'll flee to places not too far away Where the light is dark and you can't tell night from day The sun will watch our sinking silouettes as we crawl On the sands of time that run out as we fall Because water trickles slowly down beneath the ground And the pipes that bring it to us are lifeblood to our crown Of thorns, their tendrils stabbing us beneath our skin They will penetrate our skull if we don't shoot to kill Whisper's wise Open us up to the light Take time To round up the courage to do right Hear the words Let them sink into your skin Trust us We're all you friends now my dear Slow down Take a breath and lean in Give me a smile I always love it when you smile And down a different street We have learnt to move on from history

about

My second full-length LP is 10-tracks in length and full of new and inventive songs themed around finding your inner demons and moving on from struggle. The first and last songs are innately linked in these themes and form a cohesive message throughout the album.

I wrote this over the course of moving away from school into the new life around University, the travelling I did and the people I met.

Includes the two successful singles '1953' and 'My Friends' as well as great new songs 'Down a Different Street', 'Mother Nature' and 'Coming Back to Life'.
